Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 June 2026

Welcome to PaperOrg. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and PaperOrg ("PaperOrg", "we", "us") governing your use of the PaperOrg website, applications and services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

PaperOrg is a personal document organisation tool. It lets you upload, scan, store, search and manage documents, and uses automated systems (including AI) to extract information such as titles, dates, senders and categories. The Service is provided for personal and household use. It is not a legal, financial, medical or tax advisory service, and AI-generated information may contain errors — you are responsible for verifying anything important.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Notify us promptly at hello@paperorg.com of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Plans, billing and the launch offer

  • Free — up to 25 documents at no cost.
  • Personal — a recurring monthly subscription. The discounted "lifetime price" launch offer, where advertised, fixes your monthly rate for as long as your subscription remains continuously active; it ends if you cancel or if payment lapses.
  • Family — a recurring monthly subscription covering up to five members of one household.

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable VAT where required. We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable advance notice; price changes never affect a period you have already paid for.

4. Fair usage

Paid plans are intended for normal personal and household use and are subject to our Fair Usage Policy, which includes a limit of 2,000 uploads or scans per year. This is generous for any household and exists only to prevent abuse and protect the Service for everyone.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the documents and data you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you — for example, to run AI extraction, generate thumbnails and enable search. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use the personal contents of your documents to train AI models. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload Your Content and that it does not break the law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • upload unlawful content, malware, or content that infringes others' rights;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data;
  • resell, sublicense or abuse the Service, or circumvent usage limits;
  • overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service.

7. Third-party processing

To provide AI features, document contents may be processed by trusted third-party providers (such as AI model and infrastructure providers) acting as our processors under data-protection agreements. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the Service available but provide it "as is" without guarantee of uninterrupted operation. We may update, suspend or discontinue features. If we make a material change to these Terms, we will give reasonable notice.

9. Cancellation, export and deletion

You can export your documents at any time. You may delete your account at any time; on deletion we remove Your Content from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to backups expiring on their normal cycle and any retention required by law.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperOrg is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated information without verification. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for intent and gross negligence). Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the provider's place of establishment in the European Union, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
